Yikes! The Photoshop scratch disk is your hard drive. I think you can change the location around or clear some space wherever it is located. I had the mac air mine would fill up very fast when I'd download my pics in RAW. And I'd have to clear stuff out. I switched to the macbook pro, which has way more space and haven't had that problem....sorry that's probably not very helpful! Good luck!

So ironically funny you say that. Just today I was doing some editing, actually playing around with some actions and the same thing came up on my screen. I'm glad you posted the question, hopefully I'll be able to find a solution too :) Good luck!

What the? So odd that I can also say that I got that very message today as well! For goodness sakes. Luckily my 2TB (yeah, that's right, though it's really 1TB as it's a mirrored drive) external hard drive is on its way . . .

if your hard drive is filling up fast with photos you might consider buying what's called and external hard drive..it will save as many pictures as you want without taking space in your comp.

I think you can get a good one for less or up to $100 depending on how many Gigs you want and how many photos you will save.

ooh, this has also happened with my mac. I just went through and deleted some old things that I didn't care about saving and the little annoying message disappeared (for now). I googled it when it wouldn't go away and realized my RAW photos are taking up way too much room. I now have more room on my 1TB external hard drive, thanks to santa! :)
hope that helps - good luck!

OMG Jess! I have been trying to figure out how to get my scratch disk cleared out for some time now. I redirected all my photoshop stuff to an external hard drive, but I still get the message.
I googled how to take care of it, cleared up some unwanted stuff and it went away for a while but it came back again.
I give up trying to do it myself so I am going to stop by the mac store and ask them if they know.
Hopefully someone will give us the answers we are looking for.
Good Luck

yep, it means that you need to get an external hard drive ASAP. I have had all kinds of problems (with a pc, not a mac). It only occurs when I have gobs of photos saved on my computer. Just do some cleaning of the hard drive and sorting and you should be fine. What mac do you have???

It doesn't just happen when your hard drive is full. I still have 18GB of space and the same message came up on my computer today. I read this post yesterday and now the message came up on my computer today. Weird. Did you get it fixed?

sounds you like you already figured it out but if i can add any input... do you load photos into iphoto? if so, it will jam up in a minute!! i quit loading photos into iphoto altogether. i have 3 external hard drives. one that is full with older stuff and then 1 for personal photos and 1 for client photos. when i load my photos - i drag and drop the folder of raws right onto the external hard drive so they don't ever mess with my computer. then i save all edits, etc right back onto the hard drive. and in case you didn't already figure this out if you are trying to clear up the space on your hard drive - your iphoto images have to be deleted in two places - in iphoto and then in the folder from your hard drive. just deleting them in iphoto will not actually remove it from your hard drive. (and to see how much room you have just right click on the hard drive icon on your desktop and click "get info" it will show you how much capacity and how much is available. i try to keep the available between 50 and 100 GB) hope this helps! love your stuff btw!!
